Lets get Started Cooking....
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup white sugar2 tablespoon lavender buds
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 3/4 cups cream cheese
Cream sugar, shortening, cream cheese, vanilla, lemon, & lavender; add the rest of the ingredients mixing in without over stirring. Bake 350 oven 45 min 9 in square pan, or 4 mini loaf pans, lined with parchment paper, filled 1/2 full.

12 oz cream cheese

1/2 c plain yogurt

2 pressed large garlic cloves

1/2 tsp fresh thyme or 1/4 tsp dried

1 tsp dried and ground lavender flowers

2 tsp soy sauce
Cream all ingredients together and refrigerate for at least an hour. Use as either a dip or a spread
Ideas: Toasted pita bread wedges, rosemary crackers, sliced vegetable dippers
Recipes to use Lavender Essential Oils

For good smelling towels, sheets, clothes, etc. place a few drops of your favorite essential oil onto a small piece of terry cloth and toss into the clothes dryer while drying.

Add 5 drops essential oil to 1/4 cup fabric softener or water and place in the center cup of the washer.

Potpourri which has lost its scent can be revived by adding a few drops of essential oil.

Add a few drops of oil to water in a spray bottle and use as an air freshener.
